Louise over at Diary of a Wordsmith has written an excellent post on the effects of epilepsy. No matter what our own disabilities are, and how we deal with them, it is often easy to forget just how debilitating other less visual disabilities can be.

Please don't say "suffer". I don't feel like I'm suffering from epilepsy, even though it's a pain sometimes, and I know many others who would say the same. We "have" epilepsy. Undoubtedly some do suffer if their epilepsy is severe, but most of us manage to live reasonably normal lives!
ReplyDeleteSorry about that, I'll make sure I don't do it in future.
ReplyDeleteHi in two posts you have captured my attention. Stumbled here via bendy Girl's post. I have as does my daughter the inherited connective tissue disorder Ehlers Danlos & other two that make up our immediate family epilepsy. I also have a blog but it is mundane in comparison to Bendy Girl's which is witty, clever & despite the humour sometimes such a true description of living with the condition that I think she is describing me. Except she is younger, prettier and far cleverer than I. I will definately be reading more here.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't answered this before Achelois, but I'll add you to the blogroll as well. It isn't about how funny you are, how well you write, or how many people read your blog, it is about you blogging, and that deserves recognition.
